Grown up and back in Finland!

It's official! I am now old. This month has been full of big changes and scary decisions but I feel like things are now on the right track and I am growing up. When I turned 18 I thought it was time for a bit of a change so I cut my hair and stopped wearing eye make-up like I used to. Let me know what you all think! I think it makes me look older and suits me better.

I had a very emotional last few days in England and I am already missing home and missing English things. My mum cried for four hours when I left and I had to stop myself crying at the airport but what I miss most right now is proper fish and chips and English tea!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mummy if you are reading this can you send me some tea :D

On my last day in England my sister and I took these photos as our goodbye photos x
When I arrived Alex and Tuomas were waiting for me and we went out for a drink phone shopping. As you can see it went well but unfortunately Golden Flake bar didn't have any phones.

I'm sorry that Alex was too lazy to send me his photos without the watermark!
Oona and I getting ready to go out x

and then the end result, hangover pizza in the park! That was the quickest I have ever eaten a whole pizza. Olen laski!

Okay this was just a quick post to say that I am in Finland, I promise I will post some more interesting stuff soon. I hope the bad weather and start of school isn't making everyone depressed!

Tobi x

  2. I am sorry to say this but have you really thought seriously enough about living in Finland ? What I've seen on your blog it looks like you really like Finland, and I'm really glad to see that someone likes our country, but it's very different to just hang out with your friends & being a tourist from actually LIVING in Finland, as a Finnish person(or as a immigrant, even worse!).
As I read this entry & the reply to the previous comment, you sound so carefree. It can be very tough to find a job without ability of speaking Finnish(although you're studying it). Even a Finnish people has hard time finding a job(I have personal experiences)!! And what comes to studying in university -- although it's free, the living expenses are high(especially if you're planning on staying in Helsinki?), you should probably work while studying(I don't know if you'll get some student money from your home country)
Also, subjects in universities are mostly taught in Finnish and there are many applicants to the universities, what if you can't enroll on your first try? Or even second?
Although my words might sound a little harsh, I do wish you the bestest luck and I really do hope you can make it & do what you dream about. I don't know how much you've browsed Internet and looked for information about living&studying in Finland, but I know this forum for immigrants in Finland: http://www.finlandforum.org/index.php I think you can find some tips there!
    Sincerely, your reader

    1. I have lived on two different continents, three different countries, worked in france, london and dublin. My mum left home at 20 and moved to paris with no flat and no job where she met my dad who didnt speak her language. I got this. x

I've always dreamed of doing something like this, I think languages are not a problem (and so do you, as I see ^_^), but what holds me back is the fact me and my family don't have much money for me to go abroad~~
I wish you good luck! ♥ I'll stay tuned on your blog to see more of lovely Finland! <3
