Paris and New Hair!

Hello everyone, once again I have been neglecting my blogging duties and have just been generally lazy as hell. (I leave for South America next week and I am sooooo nervous and unprepared)

Two weekends ago I went to Paris at the end of Men's fashion week.
The weather was soooo terrible! It was during the heavy snow storm we had in northern Europe and the Eurostar was delayed by 3 hours so the travelling was horrible.
Unfortunately I didn't take many photos but here are all the good ones :)

Amazing Japanese style lobster

I met up with my friend Aurore who used to work in my old school and taught me a lot about French fashion History (and the technical vocab) It was so nice to be able to talk in French properly with a French person! Sorry about the quality of this pic.

Pretty sure my hair is alive.

It was such an amazing weekend and I can't wait to go back and spend some proper time in Paris! Paris has a lot of faults but I've really started to see its good side and I can't wait to explore more of it.

In other news I had my hair cut! I really really wanted GD's salt and pepper hair with the short back and sides but because Argentina (South America in general) isn't the safest of places, my family have warned me not to dye my hair and be very careful with the way I dress so I had to go for a more toned down look. These are the two photos I showed my hairdresser.

I asked for it to be as short as possible so this cut can last me as long as possible while I'm in Argentina. Anya also wanted to make the fringe more choppy. I don't think it's exactly GD but I'm getting used to it and starting to really love it! Anya laughed and said I actually look like a boy this time! :D
(p.s. thats my new Jeremy Scott x Adidas top)

Bad front camera selfie, I look like an alien!!!!

Also I've been doing a lot of cooking recently as my mum has been quite ill, here is some Black Olive, Sun-dried tomato and Anchovy bread I made for my sisters upcoming 16th b-day party :)
Sorry this post was so picture heavy with no real content but I'm meant to be packing for Argentina, packing up my entire room for a potential house move, cooking food and cleaning the entire house and I have to walk my dog so ... I'm quite busy!

I've also started writing several posts about REAL subjects for once and not just photos and my boring life updates. I'm quite excited about having some serious content on here for once.
Also expect my first post from Argentina at the end of next week! (OMG OMG OMG IT'S SO CLOSE AND I AM SO NOT READY PLEASE HELP ME!) I'm really looking forward to it being summer though! South American beaches and 40 degrees and sexy tanned people everywhere sounds quite nice right now! :P

I hope you are all having a good day, Tobi xxx

(oh I almost forgot, having a fabulous textiles play date/drunken sleepover with my fabulous Lucinda early next week as a mini good bye England party so hopefully I will have some fun stuff to post from that as well)

A New Year and Big News!

There is so much I want to say but I need to keep this as short as possible so I don't bore you all. I want to start by thanking everyone who has been a part of my life in the last year, even if it was only a brief one. I have grown so much as an individual and made some amazing memories and had some incredible experiences. I feel truly blessed to have spent the time I have in Helsinki, Kensington and Barcelona and to have met some of the incredible people I have. In the last year I feel like I have grown a lot as an individual both emotionally and "style" wise and I hope 2013 will be a continuation of all this and more.

Here is a mini photo summary of my 2012 :)

Just a quick summary of my year and some of the fun looks, things and people I have done and met.

I have never been the type of person who makes resolutions and lives by set rules but I do set myself goals to achieve. I'm also a firm believer in starting how you mean to go on and I think this applies to how you enter a new year. For me I started 2013 in Barcelona with friends enjoying food and culture as well as having lots of fun while picking up some Spanish. This is how I want 2013 to be. I am hoping to be fluent in Spanish again by the end of year and to continue travelling, learning and exploring both myself and the world around me and that is why (TIME TO ANNOUNCE THE BIG NEWS) I am moving to Buenos Aires in Argentina for 7 months at the start of February! I am hoping to rediscover my cultural roots, spend time with my family, learn Spanish properly again and explore South America. I am so excited about this and hopefully it will be another life changing experience.

Buenos Aires, also called the Paris of South America. Another exciting adventure and a fabulous excuse for me to change my look and my wardrobe as it will be summer when I arrive.

I wish all of you luck and prosperity for the year ahead and I hope you all take advantage of the opportunities that come your way. With love, Tobi x

Barcelona part 2 GYARU GYARU

Hello everyone! Time for part two of my Barcelona posts. Towards the end of my holiday I was lucky enough to meet up with some of my Gyaru friends again and we went shopping and went out for dinner together.

I met up with Andrea and Marta during the day and hung out around La Rambla and Placa de Catalunya. We went shopping in El Courte Ingles and I bought a pair of cute Skull print socks. Here are some of the photos we took :)

FUGLY DERP FACES BUT I COULDN'T RESIST
After the days shopping we met up with Chechi and Jordi to go out for dinner again.

Chechi being cute as always and eating everyone's left overs!
My dinner!
Andrea's horrible diet food -_- (it actually tasted really nice)
Chechi and Jordi doing what they do best <3
After Andrea and Marta left Chechi, Jordi and I went out for Mojitos for a good bye drink ... and accidently got a bit more drunk than we were expecting to ...

We took some photos together, unfortunately they didn't turn out so well because we were drunk and it was 1 in the morning.

We ended up going to a club until five. Chechi and I were dancing up on a podium shaking everything in everyone's faces. They also decided to show me what is inside a dark room! it was like the scary parts of a gay dating site filled with old men. I was still drunk the next day when my family woke me up which turned into a delightful hangover on my flight home. All in all it was one of the best holidays I have ever had and I am missing Barcelona and everyone so much! I can't wait to go back again in the summer. Thank you to everyone who made my holiday amazing, I love you all! <3

I hope everyone had as amazing a winter holiday as I did! I am so looking forward to this new year, the new experiences and the new prospects it will bring. I have such a good feeling for the year ahead and I wish the best to all of you :) x Tobi x

Barcelona trip part 1

Hello everyone! I'm sorry it has been so long, I have really neglected this blog and I have also been in Barcelona with my sister, my dad and his family for Christmas and New Year, but now I am finally back with a new post all about my holiday! WARNING this blog post is VERY VERY VERY picture heavy.

The view from the plane as we flew over Barcelona
When we got to Barcelona the weather was AMAZING. Winter in Catalunya looks like the best day of summer in England. It was 20 degrees and sunny and there were palm trees at the airport!

My deranged half sister

This was the view from our apartment balcony

Unfortunately I was very ill again for Christmas so I missed the first couple of days of the holiday but when I was able to get out of bed I managed to get a few photos of myself in the lobby of our apartment building.

Finally after being in "Spain" (I can here Jordi shouting Catalunya at me) for four days I got my tapas! I miss the food so much, it's horrible being back in England.

The next day Clem (my sister) and I went exploring together ...

We visited Gaudi's famous cathedral La Sagrada Familia which is nearing completion after 130 years of construction.

I also met up with the amazing Andrea and Maria for Japanese food and a walk around the city.

My Udon

On the Friday I met up with Andrea and Maria again but this time I got to spend time with  Chechi and Jordi as well and even Chelsea and her boyfriend Mako dropped by quickly. They took me to La Oveja Negra which serves the best sangria in the whole of Barcelona (AND FREE POPCORN!)

Chechi, Jordi and Andrea left me special messages and drawings in my notebook <3

and then we got a bit tipsy ...

On New Years Eve Andrea invited me to her apartment in Mataro city, north of Barcelona. Her apartment looked like an Almodovar set. It was so cute and "Spanish" and we ate grapes at midnight and ate lots of snacks while looking at gyaru pics on tumblr.

Isn't her dog the cutest?!!!!!!!! She was wearing a jumper <3
I'm sorry this post was so picture heavy! I will do a second, shorter post for the rest of my holiday. I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and are enjoying the new year and a new start. I have big news to announce soon but I will wait until I have finished my Barcelona posts first. Tobi x
